And then we have mid-terms the following week.
Applicants: please do not believe that business school is not a ton of hard work. Even if you're just aiming to graduate, the workload is overwhelming.
Fellow MBA students and business school graduates: please stop perpetuating the silly idea that business school is a joke.

3,000 words is 12 pages, not exactly brutal stuff.
Thanks for your encouragement. I think it sucks.
12 pages give or take really is easy. If you really want something to complain about, try law school!
I enjoy your blog, keep up the hard work!
12 pages double spaced, no less. in my experience, b-schoolers (and law schoolers) never say school is a joke - quite the opposite in fact, they are usually very, very vocal about how hard it is and how no one truly understands how hard it actually is. it's almost like they have a superiority complex manifested through a false insecurity complex. i have never understood it but 99.9% of students succumb.
well, no one's ever confused an MBA with the first year of a math or physics PhD...
My undergrad degree is in business. My three-page papers were just as time-consuming as my roommates' 20-pagers because the challenge was to shorten them, not lengthen them. Adding detail is a skill we all learn in high school. Condensing what you want to say into half the space you think it really takes to say it is not something most people are used to doing.
Good luck getting it all done...I continue to enjoy reading about your experiences. Stanford's high on my interest list so I appreciate the insight.
Ah....if you haven't done it, it will be difficult for you to understand the situation. I have written hundred page reports earlier. However, this 1000 words essays have been bugging me like hell! Two reasons,
1. Making it short is a real challange
2. It's CAT, if you know what I mean! :)
First quarter is the toughest. As you probably already know, next quarters will be way more relaxed. Keep up and don't forget to enjoy youself in the process :-)
